Technology & Services

Technology has become a huge part of the dental profession just like it has in every facet of life. There have been great advances in almost all areas of dentistry from the way we examine teeth to the way we restore teeth.  We also offer special services to meet your needs and make you comfortable.

Cerec

CEREC

CEREC is a wonderful advancement in dental technology that uses CAD/CAM (computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing) technology to take impressions quickly and generate a precisely fitted dental restoration. The benefit to you is that we can conveniently make it the same day while you're in the chair, saving you time!

Digital radiographs (X-rays)

Digital radiographs or x-rays as they are commonly called, are one of the greatest tools we use in the office to help us identify and diagnose existing problems with the teeth and mouth.  X-rays can also be used as a preventive measure.  If we can identify a problem before it grows, we can save you pain, time and money.  Our digital x-ray system reduces the amount of radiation you receive by over 80% compared to traditional x-rays.

DIAGNOdent

The Diagnodent is a small harmless dental laser that is capable of detecting cavities in teeth. This means we are able to detect cavities when they are smaller, which results in a smaller restoration.

Intra Oral Camera

It’s difficult to see things in our own mouths.  The intra oral camera allows us to take a photo of fractured teeth, cavities, recession or document unusual findings so we can discuss the best possible treatment looking at the problem area together.

3-D Cone Beam Imaging

One of the newest technological additions to the office and the only one like it offered in the Calhoun area is the 3-D Cone Beam Imaging System.  The 3-D scan is critical to placing implants with precision and helping to diagnose problems around the teeth and jawbone.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous Oxide, also known as laughing gas, is a safe and effective sedative agent allowing you to relax while still being awake during your dental procedure. Once the nitrous oxide ceases, the effect wears off and you can continue on with your day.

IV Sedation

Dental procedures can create anxiety in some patients.  Though we use all measures to make sure our patients are comfortable and relaxed, IV sedation is sometimes the right choice.  Patients will be able to have their dental treatments in a “twilight” state, easing the anxiety surrounding the appointment.

Zoom

One of the most common dental concerns is how to achieve whiter teeth.  Zoom, our in-office whitening procedure, will help you achieve your brightest shade in about one hour.  Unlike over-the-counter whitening agents, we’re able to block out the sensitive gum tissues and recession areas to make your whitening experience comfortable and achieve the best outcome.
